An invitation into 'The Meadow'

*Story Time - 2min Read*

✨ Since before lockdown (you know the one), I have been working on a concept album called ‘The Meadow’ (coming-to-your ears April 2023).

The journey of the music is about transition, moving forward and letting go. It reflects my own tendency to use romanticism, fantasy and nostalgia as a way to stay safe, idle and inactive, to the point where I will consciously ignore that feeling in my guts saying ‘snap out of it —it’s time to move on!’ This tendency, at times, has caused me to not participate fully in what we might call “real life,” and instead to keep living in these thoughts and reveries, lost in my own world.

In ‘The Meadow’ album, I’m inviting you into my day-dream —a comfortably enclosed safe space, soaked by the golden rays of a perfect summer day that will never end. It’s the honest joy that I find in my ongoing reverie. It’s my melancholy and my feelings of isolation. It’s my acknowledgment that I no longer belong here and the inner-turmoil that this truth brings. And it’s my biggest obstacle to overcome —am I even capable of leaving?

You might feel the same way to some extent. You might be going through a period of change in your life —the next chapter is calling you, and has been, perhaps for a long time. I look forward to inviting you into my day-dream and I hope that maybe, just maybe, my music can help you to find the strength to take those steps “Beyond The Meadow.” ✨

With love,
Bay x

I suggest listening to it in one go from start to finish
people have told me that they’ve loved it whilst on a walk. In the bath. In nature. In their headphones
